Day 24 Dubois, Wyoming

Well the trip into Montana was short – not many stops.  But boy were those stops pretty awesome.  With one stop in Driggs, Idaho for two days, we are now into yet another state: Wyoming.  When we woke up this morning, we had a quick breakfast because we had to drive over the Teton Mountains into Jackson, Wyoming.  The only bad thing about this morning is that we were unable to stop to take a picture at the Welcome to Wyoming sign.  The grade in the Teton Mountains is over 10%, so we were unable to ride through them because it would be too dangerous for them to go down this steep of a downhill.  The Teton Mountain range is unlike any other.  Personally, I think they are more beautiful than the Rockies because they seem like they just rise up out of the ground out of nowhere.  Although the Rockies are so big and grand, there is something about the Tetons that make them unreal.

When we got into Jackson, Wyoming, we met up with an organization called Teton Adaptive Sports.  A couple of their clients and Fathers were going to ride the first couple miles with us out of town.  One of the clients, Brendan, is a teenage boy who is extremely athletic.  He suffers from autism, but during the friendship visit at the ranch yesterday, he was blowing us all out of the water with how athletic he is at everything.  When he rode with us this morning, he was keeping up with all of the guys the entire time.  When their ride along was finished, we were at Teton National Park where we posed for pictures with them and said our goodbyes.  Not to mention there was an amazing view of the mountain range behind us.  It is amazing how beautiful the entire scenery is on the west coast.  It still leaves me in awe every time.

The ride was pretty awesome.  We rode along the Tetons the entire day, so we had those to look at the whole time.  We still have limited friendship visits with the location of our lodgings at the current time, but this only means that there will be more as we continue on the trip.  When we got to Dubois, I can honestly say that it might be the most uncivilized town we have been to so far.  Today starts the stretch of the trip where we are associated with the Cattle Women of Wyoming.  These women are an organization that believes in the nutrition of cattle beef and that all major vitamins and nutritious needs can be mostly obtained by cattle beef.  The dinner was amazing.  They made us beef sandwiches, cheese potatoes, and a plethora of fruit and desserts.  The days that follow today will be very similar in the scenery, lack of friendship visits, and sponsored dinners.  I am sorry that the blogs will be pretty boring for the next couple days, but there is nothing I can really do about it.  I hope everyone is having a great summer!
